eBooks & Audiobooks
eBooks are a great way to have books to read when you are on a trip and don’t want to lug a bunch of books with you. They can be expensive to buy so you might try the State Library of Kansas. The State Library of Kansas has a great variety of books available to download and enjoy and all you need is a State Library of Kansas library card. You can get that at your local library and its FREE!
Audio books are another way to enjoy books especially if you are busy and just don’t have the time to sit down and read. There are audio books for adults, teens and children. People often check them out for road trips, and often long haul truckers check them out to make their daily runs more enjoyable. The State of Kansas also loans out audiobooks online. Make The Most of Your Library

Make the Most of Your Library;

Get a library card. The first step, obviously, is to get a library card. They’re nearly always free, but you usually have to bring your drivers’ license and proof of address.

Ask a librarian. If you aren’t sure what your local library does or does not offer, don’t hesitate to ask. And if the library doesn’t offer a program that you’d like to see, suggest it! You might even head up a committee to start that particular program to benefit your whole community.

Use inter-library loan. Our library belongs to the Southeast Kansas Library System and uses a 46 library system. It is very much like being a branch of a large library and allows you to access the books in those libraries. Just ask for the book of your choice and we will try to get that for you.

Check the calendar. We post on our website at and our Facebook page at
