Book discussion groups
For a fun way to meet new people and strike up some interesting conversations, check out your library’s book discussion groups. Many libraries will host a discussion once a month, focusing on one or more books, in particular. Discussion groups are a free, fun way to get out of the house and enjoy yourself.

Meeting places.
Our library offers the community room which is available to community members. Non-profit groups are not charged for the use of our building but all others pay a daily fee of $25.00.

Come to the library to put together a puzzle, work on genealogy or color pictures. We invite you to be a part of a growing gathering place. We would like to start new programs to use this beautiful home town treasure. Our library is available to you to enjoy. Remember we are a cool place in the summer, a warm place in the winter and a welcoming place year round. It’s your library so make use of this treasure.

Money Savings

More on the series about saving money:
Special events
Most libraries have special events for community members that are free and open to all. These can include book clubs, craft programs and activities for children, teens and adults.

Pre-school Story Time
Our library has a story hour once a week on Thursday mornings at 10 am. The kids enjoy the books being read to them, the pictures to color and cookies at these activities. It is a good time for a break to stay at home parents and gives them a chance to relax and chat with others while their kids are having time to be with other kids.

Fun classes
Don’t just look to the library to brush up on professional skills or health knowledge. Check out your library’s offerings for fun hobby classes, too. Many libraries host writers’ guilds, offer craft and hobby classes, or even offer art classes for kids and adults, alike.

Computers, Internet, and Job Search

More information on money saving:
Internet
We have computers for your use with internet access, and Wi-Fi for you to use on your tablet, phone or laptop while at the library. Wi-Fi is available 24 hours a day here at the library. So if the internet is too pricey for you to have at home, make use of this service.

Computers
The computers here at the library are connected to a printer and for a small fee you can write letters, term papers, and print off coupons. Just another way to save big money for your family.

Job hunting resources
One of the uses of the computers here at the library is to job search. The State Library of Kansas has a database that is just the right thing for a job search. To access this site, go to www.learningexpresshub.com. You can search for jobs, make a resume, and cover letter.
